The first is the Police Explorer program. This
program was created several years ago and has gained a
lot of momentum since it started. The police departments
that sponsor Explorer Posts have tremendously developed
them into programs where younger candidates can really
obtain a “hands on” experience as well as great insight
as they explore the possibility of entering police work
as a profession for their careers.
The second is a variety of Youth Police Academies that
various agencies are sponsoring around the state. These
academies can range in time from a day, to a week. The
curriculum, date, time, and enrollment guidelines also
varies. Below you will find a list of all of the
